Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Shift Technician for our Evansville facility located in Fleetwood, PA.

What You'll Get To Do

In this position, you will have the opportunity to Provide mechanical & electrical maintenance support for Cement Production. Below are some of the responsibilities.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting of Electrical Systems

  • Electrical Motor Starters

  • Various Sensors; Pressure, Temperature, Level, Proximity switches

  • Programable Logic Controllers (PLC)

  • Perform basic Troubleshooting of Mechanical Systems

  • Material conveying systems; Belts, Elevators, Pan Conveyors

  • Valves and Gates

  • Compressors and Pumps

  • Light duty mechanical repairs utilizing welding and cutting

  • Perform inspections on all equipment using a checklist

  • Performs labor duties as instructed and keep working areas in a clean condition

  • Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries to self and others by observing and practicing all safety policies and procedures, operating practices, and wears appropriate PPE at all times.

  • This list is not all inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary for the efficient operation of the facility.

What We Are Looking For

  • Must possess a minimum high school diploma or GED.

  • Completion of a registered apprenticeship program or the ability to attend company provided schooling to obtain apprenticeship.

  • 5 yrs. heavy industrial experience/manufacturing experience preferred

  • Must be able to read blueprints and schematics in performance of repairs and troubleshooting

  • Must be able to troubleshoot control circuits up to 460 volts and have knowledge of PLC controls.

  • Employee must have an understanding of Pneumatics

  • Able to read, understand, and implement written instruction

  • Must be able to work at heights, climb steps and be in good physical condition.

  • Ability to work a rotating shift, holidays and/or overtime required

  • Physical Requirements: sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending (bending at the waist, lifting above the waist and lifting below the waist), kneeling, reaching, grasping (use of both hands), squatting, repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements with both hands, use of wrists (flexing or rotating with both wrists), use of both feet, use of arms above and below shoulder, work extended periods of time in same position, perform duties in all climates i.e. weather, extreme temperatures, tolerate heights, lift and carry up to 75 lbs., work in confined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment
