Position: Forklift Operator (Sit-Down)
Location: Flint, MI
Pay Rate: $17.00
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 6am-4:30pm; Overtime on Friday, 6am-2:30pm (overtime likely through the end of the year)
Job Description: Join our new facility in Flint as a Forklift Operator (Sit-Down) and become a key player in our team! In this role, you will operate and manage industrial trucks to load and unload materials, move them to and from storage areas, machines, and loading docks, and ensure their safe handling throughout the facility. You will also participate in cross-training efforts for specific plant needs and share duties with other drivers.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely load and unload trailers
Grade materials and place processed material into inventory storage
Monitor bale weights and complete all required paperwork
Perform pre-shift forklift inspections and routine preventive maintenance
Maintain basic knowledge of operations and procedures in all production departments
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Actively participate in the Health and Safety programs
Complete all assigned training and perform other duties as needed
What You Need to Succeed:
High school diploma or GED
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos
Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
Proficiency in intermediate arithmetic, including decimals, fractions, and ratios
Ability to pass a basic reading test
Willingness to work overtime as needed
Good attendance and ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
