Greater Flint Health Coalition -- Flint, MI

Greater Flint Health Coalition (GFHC), a nonprofit collective impact organization, seeks an experienced Project Director to oversee its Mental Health & Substance Use program. GFHC operates numerous community-based programs focused on improving health, healthcare access, and addressing chronic disease, health disparities, and public health issues.

Overview:

The Project Director will manage GFHC's strategic initiatives within the Mental Health & Substance Use program, overseeing multi-sector partner engagement, community building, project development, implementation, and grant reporting. This role includes coordinating evaluation activities, documenting outcomes, and ensuring communication with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include leading the Community-Wide Strategy to Address the Opioid Epidemic in Flint and Genesee County, which involves engaging community residents, strengthening workforce capacity, and coordinating care and resources to improve treatment and prevention of opioid misuse.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead GFHC's Mental Health & Substance Use program to achieve outcomes aligned with strategic objectives, grant deliverables, and program work plans.
  • Manage program operations, timelines, documentation, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with multi-sector partner objectives.
  • Develop and maintain program operations, training manuals, and build a culture of compassion and excellence.
  • Direct prevention coordinators and project managers in engaging community agencies and residents effectively.
  • Coordinate the daily operations of the opioid strategy with partners from various sectors, including healthcare providers, public health agencies, and community organizations.
  • Oversee data collection and analytics, plan and evaluate programs, and prepare reports to share best practices with stakeholders.
  • Engage healthcare leaders and providers to incorporate evidence-based practices into standards of care.
  • Develop grant proposals to support organizational initiatives.
  • Support the GFHC's mission, vision, and values, and develop collaborative relationships with partner organizations.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in health or a related field; Master's degree (MPH, MHSA, or MS) is a plus.
  • Experience in public health programs, with a focus on addressing factors affecting community health and building multi-sector alignment.
  • Strong project management skills, including creating and managing work plans and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to think strategically, innovate, and engage stakeholders effectively to improve project outcomes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with comfort in public speaking.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Passion for GFHC's mission and values.

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Job Status: Full-Time, Salary; Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility for meetings and events.
