Jabil is adding an Incoming Quality Control (IQC) Inspector to our Quality Department on the 402 shift in Florence, Kentucky. The Quality Department is responsible for inspecting, testing, and verifying all incoming parts and materials meet customer specifications throughout the assembly and integration phases of production for various Advanced Compute Platforms.
SUMMARY
To perform Incoming Quality Control (IQC) inspections to ensure the incoming materials are in compliance with work instructions, specifications, and customer requirements. Assist in the operation of the manufacturing line while ensuring the highest quality and striving for efficiency and excellence in all endeavors while adhering to all safety requirements. The IQC Inspector works closely with suppliers and the quality engineering team to identify and resolve discrepancies, maintain accurate documentation, and support continuous improvement initiatives to uphold the highest standards of quality in manufacturing.
Hourly Compensation:
$22.43 USD - hourly (including shift differential)
Shift / Schedule:
IQC Inspectors are required to work 12-hour shifts on the following schedule:
402 Shift: (weekday, night schedule) 6:00PM to 6:00AM, Monday through Wednesday, and Monday through Thursday every other week.
For example
: 36 hours week 1 (Monday - Wednesday), 48 hours on week 2 (Monday - Thursday), 36 hours week 3 (Monday - Wednesday), etc.
Occasional overtime may be required, depending on business needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reading and interpreting drawings, visual aids, and special instructions while performing quality inspections of incoming material(s).
Perform routine and repetitive inspection procedures to ensure quality levels at various stages of production.
Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
Utilize inspection equipment to evaluate material compliance in accordance with customer specifications.
Actively participate in implementing and maintaining the 5S methodology within a quality control (QC) process.
Complete all IQC inspections according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and report results to Technicians, Supervisor, and/or SQE as required.
Strict adherence to work instructions and specifications while conducting material inspection.
Perform First Article Inspection and collect data to report to IQC Technician and/or SQE as required.
Ensure that all tools, equipment and visual aids are in proper working order and of the latest revision.
Support other IQC inspectors on verifying conformance of incoming materials.
Creates, records, and releases all Quality Notifications and inspection results in SAP as needed.
Escalating quality issues and trends to department leadership.
Train IQC inspectors with new inspection methods for new product introductions.
Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to define problems, collect data and establish facts based on data.
Ability to operate a personal computer including using a Windows-based operating system and related software.
Basic PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabils software packages.
IPC-A-600 Acceptability of Printed Boards certification.
Ability to write simple correspondence. Read reports and understand visual aids in English.
Ability to apply common sense and practice sound judgement while carrying out simple instructions.
Ability to deal with standardized situations with little-to-no variables.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
2 years' experience in a relevant Jabil production position or equivalent external work experience.
Experience working in a multi-cultural and diverse environment.
Proven ability to work within a fast-paced and highly ambiguous manufacturing environment.
Experience with printed circuit board manufacturing, electronics assembly, and/or a degree in a related field preferred.
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
