Job Description

The Logistics Planning Group Leader of Logistics is mainly responsible for the Electronic Rack (ER) planning teams in Florence (Source, Make, and Deliver). Key tasks are to ensure that departmental goals (e.g. inventory, costs, delivery performance) and objectives (e.g. improvement projects) are achieved. This position:

  • Will actively modify and improve existing logistics systems and processes, apply CIP methodology and lean logistics principles (BPS) to eliminate waste in the supply chain

  • Coach, counsel and provide technical support to team. Addressed conflicts that could not be resolved at the team level.

  • maintains a balance between requirements and resources as well as plays a key role in Company profit and loss

  • Interacts regularly with employees, management, senior management, customers and suppliers

The professionalism, quality and accuracy displayed in the performance of this job have a direct impact on the daily operations of the department and, ultimately, customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Primary supervisor for the customer service, production and material planners

  • Directs and coordinates information flow activity in a manner that ensures effective and economical. Main topics supporting team:

  • Monitoring of EDI. Analysis customer releases for short term changes and long term forecast as well as contracted capacity as well as customer systems maintenance.

  • Responsible for inventory management (i.e. FG, Raw, WIP) and maintaining target level. Also ensure the finished good system inventory is accurate. Drive a continuously improving lean environment, where stock levels are optimized.

  • Ensure that premium and standard freight costs are optimized.

  • Management of an international supply chain. Track supplier performance and continually develop the supply base to ensure reliable performance.

  • Applies and demonstrates leadership skills. Uses leadership skills in formulating communications to customers

  • Uses knowledge to adapt procedures, processes and techniques to accomplish requirements support for manufacturing

  • Utilize standard problem solving tools (e.g. 5 Whys, A3) to identify root cause of deviations and systematically drive improvements

  • Communicate with executive management frequently regarding logistics KPI, process optimization and status of improvement projects. Participate in tours with key customers, stakeholders and guests

  • Manage customer complaints including problem resolution and implementing corrective actions

  • Applies project management principles to support departmental activities

  • Acts as a knowledge resource; supervises knowledge transfer to others

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Supply Chain Management, Industrial / Logistics Engineering, or other related field;

5 years of Supply Chain planning, logistics, or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment – (automotive preferred).

  • Exp. in areas of lean manufacturing and logistics, inbound planning, customer planning , change management, and warehousing / distribution operations.

PREFERRED: Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CSCMP - preferred from (Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals)
