Honeywell Fire Services Demand Generation Rep in FLORIDA, Florida

capable of building strong relationships up and down the executive levels of a major end user's

organizations. Liaising with engineering, general contracting, and other project influencers to secure

hard specifications that meet and exceed customers’ requirements. Build specifications that include all

Honeywell Fire portfolio products to maximize the use of Honeywell technology to support codes and

standards, client expectations and future growth potential. Be a partner to risk insurers, market

influencers and understand the NFPA codes and standards that regulate the products we sell.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leverage relationships, background, experience and education to engage in productive

discussions (listen) and build trust (specify) with state / local Authorities Having Jurisdictions

(AHJs, Fire Marshals) regarding the value of ERCES, the need to eliminate POTS-based

communicators and the value of digital alerts & lithium ion detection (not brand specific) to the

community and local first responders. Educate the AHJs to translate the value of these solutions

into requirements in their local jurisdictions.

  • Develop relationships with key code officials in the assigned territories to educate on key

industry trends that improve outcomes for building occupants, building owners and the fire

service.

  • Key relationships would include, but are not limited to, local / state / regional Fire Marshals,

Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), building and other code enforcement officials.

  • Work with the code officials to formally adopt technologies / initiatives including (but not

limited to):

  • Improve the timeliness and accuracy of alarm transmission data

  • Provide alarm data directly to First Responder

  • Require radio coverage surveys in non-residential facilities

  • Require Emergency Radio Communication Enhancement Systems (ERCES) when

adequate in-building radio coverage cannot be achieved

  • Require building plans and contact information to be maintained and accessible to first

responders at all times

  • Require electrolyte vapor detection for any facilities which include fixed energy storage

systems that utilize lithium-ion batteries

  • Actively participate in local, regional and national trade associations to further educate our

stakeholders on these technologies.

  • Team w/ with Enterprise & SMB sales teams to coordinate efforts where code adoption has

been successful.

  • Sponsor / present educational sessions as a subject matter expert to local first responders &

other stakeholders.

  • 50% travel within Florida

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • 15+ years of experience in the fire service with at least 5 of those as a code official, fire

inspector, fire marshal and / or Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) with responsibility for setting

& enforcing fire / building codes.

  • NFPA code knowledge and any certifications

  • Technical ability in learning new products and working with specifying engineers and end users.

  • Excellent communication skills and being able to self-articulate.

  • Proven track record of embracing, adopting and enforcing technologies within the community as

a code official / influencer

WE VALUE:

  • Graduate of a recognized fire service leadership program (Executive Fire Officer {EFO} as an

example) and / or a Fire Protection Engineering degree / coursework at established fire sciences

programs (Oklahoma State University, Univ of MD, University of New Haven, etc). Experience

with Industrial clients.

  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

  • Be a partner to other Honeywell businesses that share and can support joint efforts within

key Vertical Market end users shared across Honeywell
