Job Summary

In this role, you'll design, develop, analyze, verify, and validate digital electronic products and subsystems covering a wide range of applications including signal and radar processing, network communications, and electronic warfare. Drive technology decisions and assure completion of activities on time and budget. Possess the ability to complete a technical project independently and determine detailed design approach. Participate in preparation of more complex and significant proposals.

Job Responsibilities

FPGA/PLD digital logic design, System Simulation, Preliminary/Detail Design and Verification development and documentation, Synthesis, Resource and Power Utilization analysis, Place and Route Strategy, Timing and Clock Domain Crossing (CDC) analysis, and general integration activities.

• Plan and lead root cause analysis for complex issues, conduct experimental tests, evaluate results to formulate and implement solutions to issues and support regaining or attaining customer partner status.

• Frequently contribute to the development of new theories/methods and present concepts, designs, decisions, and results to internal management, other organizations, teammates and external customers.

• Interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians, and support personnel to develop innovative solutions to projects, and coordinate, recommend and confer regarding technical activities and progress

• Review customer specifications and requirements, decompose system requirements and Statements of Work (SOW) into digital configuration item (CI) requirements by using formal methodologies/tools to capture and track requirements. Work with other IPT (Integrated Product Team) members to ensure product/system meets operational requirements

• Responsible and accountable for design technical planning, scheduling support, cost analysis, risk analysis and successful execution of small to medium programs or major subsystems of a larger program containing substantial digital engineering content.

• Lead digital design, review and verification activities to ensure implementation and verification of all requirements, including cost as a key design variable. Drive the program's Design to Unit Production Cost (DTUPC) and design for manufacturability requirements. Demonstrated ability to track scope growth.

• Apply a strong understanding of the organization's defined digital processes throughout the lifecycle of a program or project. Regularly participate in the improvement of the organization's digital and other processes.

• Create test and verification plans that establish functional criteria to ensure requirements have been met. Verify test results against requirements and analyze performance.

• Actively support pursuit of new business by developing and presenting new concepts, technologies or applications as part of Business Development and Program Management team.

• Provide substantial contributions to technical subcontract management that may include Statement of Work (SOW) development, proposal evaluation, source selection, technical oversight, and subcontractor work product evaluation and acceptance.

• Analyze designs as necessary. Responsible for architecting the technical solution, partitioning the solution into components/products and providing guidance and oversight to multiple development teams to ensure the technologies inter-operate or connect to each other appropriately.

• Develop trusted engineering contacts with the customer, understanding the customer's gaps/deficiencies in the progress, and provide targeted innovative solutions that close those gaps.

• Function in a project leadership role and may provide direction to lower level employees. Mentor and coach the work of others as assigned. Assuring completion of tasks on time and budget

• Provide technical expertise and assistance to other engineers and support personnel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 10 years of experience

  • Mastery of technologies and domain knowledge

  • Expected to have knowledge and significant experience in multiple engineering disciplines

  • Ability to lead major problem resolution efforts and support regaining or attaining customer partner status.
