Position Summary

A career as a Compensation Analyst Intermediate will provide you the opportunity to conduct analysis and interpretation related to the organization’s compensation programs. You will analyze organizational data to produce metrics and conduct market analysis of positions to determine competitive positioning of the organizational pay programs. In addition, you will be responsible for participating in annual salary administration programs, including annual merit increases, bonus payments, budgets, salary structures, and survey participation. You will also evaluate the organization's positions while documenting responsibilities, requirements and qualifications in a job description. You will be responsible for participating in and examining all compensation related decisions managed by the HR function while partnering with leaders, managers and employees to drive the business as it relates to SJI’s people and organizational effectiveness.

Essential Functions:

  • Supports the development, implementation, and administration of broad base compensation programs.

  • Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and company objectives.

  • Provides advice on pay decisions, policy and guidelines interpretations.

  • Assists in designing creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs and incentive plans.

  • Compiles, analyzes, prepares, and presents data.

  • Provide analytical support to evaluate plan effectiveness, metrics, and reporting.

  • Participates in annual surveys, completes market pricing using Payfactors system, monitors external market to ensure competitiveness.

  • Collaborate with talent acquisition and HR business partner function, providing insights and recommendations on compensation matters that both support business goals and ensure market competitiveness to develop competitive offer packages for hires.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations such as pay equity, pay transparency, and Fair Labor Standards Act.

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.

  • Exceptional Excel and data analysis skills.

  • Experience using Workday for compensation administration.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in a Total Rewards function a plus

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation desired.

Qualifications

Required Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or in related discipline required.

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant compensation experience.

Compensation Range:

$67,500 - 108,000

We are committed to pay transparency and ensuring equitability compensation for all employees. The pay range for this position reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits, bonuses, or other forms of compensation that might be part of the total compensation package. The specific salary offered will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, education, and experience.
