Custom Mold & Design is searching for a Mold Build Supervisor on 1st shift to support our manufacturing facility in Forest Lake, MN. The Mold Build Supervisor is responsible for supervising shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. This position is also responsible for purchasing and scheduling for jobs being produced. Reports to: Director of Operations Direct reports: Toolmakers, Polisher, Shipping This is an on-site position. Key Accountabilities Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing and facilities activities as directed. Follow procedures established for each operation, and keep work areas organized and clean at all times. Document and address any safety concern and accidents in accordant to HR requirements. Improvement: Successfully completes manufacturing engineering project work on Value Improvement Process , Strategic Activity projects, or new product development. Oversee operations efficiency and standardization. Participate and/or lead problem solving processes, whether due to increasing trends on complaints, defects, scrap, or low productivity, among others. May lead a group or team of employees in the achievement of organizational goals. Guide, coach, direct, and develop direct reports, and if applicable, drive those practices throughout their organization. Analyze and evaluate process improvements in order to reduce defects and scrap and/or improving yields. Participate and/or lead problem solving processes, whether due to increasing trends on complaints, defects, scrap, or low productivity, among others. Manage and provide direction to the department. Including, safety, interviewing, hiring, and training employees, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues which include unplanned and preventative maintenance. Hire, coach, mentor and develop employees, utilizing Halogen Performance Management and Development System. Complete Labor edit and payroll activity including enforcing attendance expe tations for staff. To include performance reviews, monthly meetings where appropriate, attendance and career pathing. Assists manager in providing guidance and training to staff, developing subordinates to attain career goals, motivating individuals to achieve results, and recruiting and maintaining a high quality staff. Assists manager to plan resource needs and hiring for department. Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives. Plan attainment thru supervision and leadership of the department through resource allocation. Assigning both employees and equipment based on work schedule. Attain schedule for deliveries bases on month plans submitted by operation manager. Plan, requisition, and manage people to attain costs for work being completed thru schedule execution. Works with manager to establish department goals, objectives, and budgets. Prioritizes and manages execution of multiple projects. Leads teams to the successful completion of project goals. May direct and control the activities and budget of one or more functional areas, product groups, projects/programs and/or operations. Report accurate status of the projects to customers and management on a regular basis. Directly responsible for the production and quality of the product, as well as personnel. Works cross-functionally in identifying and resolving production/engineering issues. Maintains and enhances cross-functional team relationships. Represents manufacturing engineering in new product development teams. Provide the cross functional leadership with updates and timely communication.
