Custom Mold & Design is searching for a Production Manager on 1st shift to support our manufacturing facility in Forest Lake, MN. Reports to: Director of Operations Direct reports: Toolmakers, Polisher, Shipping This is an on-site position. Key Accountabilities Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing and facilities activities as directed. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills; effective business correspondence and reporting; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and business operating systems. CAD software experience. Excellent organizational and planning skills, attention to detail and thorough desire for continuous improvement. Excellent communication skills and ability to interact across all levels of the organization, while accomplish organizational goals Knowledge of engineering or technical operations including experience in product/engineering management. Strong knowledge of blue print reading and familiarity with inspection equipment. Understanding of component and/or mold manufacturing and ability to make decisions on in process tolerancingAbility to perform daily tasks in a safely manner. Ability to work independently with limited supervision; Ability to solve practical problems and work effectively with customers, suppliers and other departments. Demonstrated well-developed leadership skills and able to develop, foster, and maintain a team-oriented work environment Demonstrated strong analytical and process management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirement. Essential Duties Develop, evaluate and improve mold building and manufacturing process techniques. Lead team of toolmakers to complete projects to both quality and time requirements. Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, resource capacity (man & machine), work flow and designs for maximum efficiency. Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety guidelines and regulations. Investigate and report any accidents or incidents and implement preventive measures. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Provide coaching and training to team members to enhance their skills and performance. Promote an environment where apprentices can grow and advance. Assist in the estimating process when applicable. Perform all other duties as assigned.
