Velosity Companies QUALITY ENGINEERING INTERN in Forest Lake, Minnesota

Position Summary: Velosity is offering a Quality Intern position for the fall of 2024. This program is designed for students currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a related technical or engineering field. This is a part time position during the school year assisting our Quality Engineering team. Interns will gain hands-on experience in production, documentation, and product quality within our injection molding and contract manufacturing operations. Responsibilities: Collaborate with team members to ensure products are produced correctly and on time. Follow documented processes and instructions to meet customer expectations. Make informed decisions regarding part acceptance while operating manual and automatic work centers. Accurately count and label products and document necessary information. Conduct inspections per established guidelines and document results. Provide suggestions for improving production and engineering operations. Recognize and respond to changes in part quality and notify team members of any issues. Conduct effective shift handoffs, communicating key information to incoming personnel. Maintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with company standards. Mentorship and Development: The intern will work with an assigned mentor who will guide their training and development throughout the internship. Interns can expect opportunities to tour our sister companies, meet company executives, and network with fellow interns. Performance Review: Upon completion of the internship program, students will receive a formal performance review from their assigned mentor. Future Opportunities: Full-time employment opportunities may be available based on current openings within the organization. Requirements: High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience. Basic understanding of scales and measuring equipment. Familiarity with injection molding presses and ability to read prints. Ability to work independently and safely in a manufacturing environment.
