Job Description:
In support of achieving our long-term strategic objectives, we are searching for a Plant Manager to lead our Forest Park, GA plant, a private label manufacturer of refrigerated dough products. The Plant Manager takes complete ownership and accountability for overall plant operations with a desire to win. Through subordinates, supervisors and managers, the Plant Manager assures employee engagement, safety, quality, customer service, continuous improvement, cost, and production objectives are met or exceeded. This role is responsible for providing coaching and leadership to team members in the areas of employee engagement, safety, quality, customer service, continuous improvement, cost, and equipment reliability to elevate the team’s performance. Success relies on the ability to build relationships and fully engage all employees in business improvement.
You will add value to this role by performing various functions, including but not limited to:
Promoting a safety culture and ensuring adherence to all health and safety policies/protocols.
Leading the development, execution and monitoring of the operations strategy in line with the overall operational objectives to achieve safety, quality and performance improvement and ensure achievement of manufacturing goals.
Leading the continuous improvement program to deliver opportunities in cost, quality, food safety and service.
Continually coaching, engaging and training employees in utilizing Lean principles, building a culture of recognition where you celebrate wins and continue to the next challenge.
Utilizing available data including OEE, line speed target, and efficiency and process data to continuously improve productivity, uptime and reliability.
Coordinating manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment.
Assisting in the development of operational and capital budgets, policies and procedures, and the execution of same.
Doing things the right way and never allowing compromise of our core values.
Important Details: this is an on-site role that requires 5% travel.
About You:
You will fit right in if you have:
Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing, processing or packaging industry required; food industry experience in refrigerated dough highly preferred.
Experience in a union-represented environment
Lean/Continuous Improvement experience strongly desired.
Insatiable curiosity - asking the compelling and challenging questions.
Results-driven witha strong desireto grow and learn in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated track recordexceeding targets goals.
