Summary About the Position: This position is with the Department of the Army OFC- Deputy Chief of Staff, G-6 HR/Management Support (HRMS) Division located in Fort Belvoir, VA. Responsibilities Organize and manage OCIO and DCS, G-6 administrative program incentive and honorary awards, civilian training, correspondence, distribution, and dissemination of incoming/outgoing mail. Monitor program implementation and administration to assure compliance with established policies, regulations, and practices. Assist with employee training, intern programs, acquisition management, and on/off boarding of employees. Provides advice and guidance regarding areas that do not comply with regulatory requirements. Acts as Purchasing Officer to purchase training, supplies and services using the GPC. Provides analytical support in the form of spreadsheets, graphics and word processing. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 in the Federal service which includes Providing administrative support and general assistance in areas such as reviewing/responding to correspondence, monitoring taskings, records management, development of reports, records, briefing materials, and/or drafting organizational policy; Providing staff support by overseeing agendas, schedules, advertising and monitoring individual and organization training, timekeeping suspense and tasks, conference room schedules, and/or purchasing office supplies; Utilizing a variety of automated systems/programs such as Automated Time & Attendance Production System (ATAAPs), Government Purchase Card (GPC), automated calendars, etc.; Providing oversight over an array of protocol activities. OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: Specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have at least one year of education as described in B, but less than the required three years. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
