SMX is seeking a Cybersecurity Operations and Policy Lead as an essential asset in the efficient oversight and execution of cyber operations and strategic tasks. This position drives the organization’s mission forward by coordinating daily activities, managing task orders, and crafting effective cybersecurity policies. With a strong focus on advanced data analysis and informed decision-making, the role ensures ongoing enhancement of processes and programs. Responsibilities & Essential Duties
Operational Coordination Oversight
Coordinate daily operations across multiple cyber and IT programs, ensuring alignment with team goals and organizational standards.
Serve as the primary liaison between program managers and government leads, fostering efficient communication and collaboration.
Maintain and manage the Operational Task Tracker (OTT), overseeing tasks from initiation through completion to ensure accountability and progress.
Cybersecurity Policy Development and Compliance Management
Develop and implement cybersecurity policies to meet the evolving needs of the organization, staying compliant with directives from NETCOM, ARCYBER, and the Department of Defense (DoD).
Provide expertise in the Risk Management Framework (RMF), conducting risk assessments and delivering policy recommendations for enhanced security measures.
Facilitate compliance with NATO requirements, managing protocols and tracking materials in line with NATO’s security and incident response standards.
Data Analysis and Strategic Reporting
Conduct in-depth analyses on policy, systems, and organizational efficiency, including audits, exception requests, and intelligence community (IC) tasks.
Design self-assessment tools and methods to track program readiness, measure performance, and identify knowledge gaps.
Prepare detailed informational and statistical reports to support data-driven decision-making and to provide insights into operational performance.
Consultation and Strategic Support
Provide consultative support to senior leadership by offering actionable insights and strategic solutions for operational environment and task management.
Facilitate meetings and discussions with stakeholders, ensuring that program objectives are communicated effectively, and solutions are implemented cohesively.
Develop and oversee SharePoint, Intelink, and ServiceNow workflows to streamline operations and enhance knowledge management.
Assist with the inventory and management of government equipment.
Staff Development and Consulting
Integrate Agile project management practices, encouraging skill growth within the team and fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
Support staff in identifying areas for process enhancement, aiding in developing more efficient workflows and procedures.
Promote organizational learning by addressing program deficiencies and encouraging innovative problem-solving approaches.
Analytical Thinking
Strong ability to dissect complex data sets, analyze policy and procedural requirements, and translate insights into practical applications.
Communication and Proficiency
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively share information with diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership, technical staff, and external partners.

Proficient in organizing multiple projects and tasks concurrently, focusing on maintaining high levels of accuracy and timeliness.

Skilled in working with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals, focusing on mutual support, clear communication, and shared accountability.

High attention to detail, particularly in managing policy compliance, cybersecurity protocols, and quality assurance processes to ensure operational excellence.

Demonstrates proactive problem-solving skills to address complex challenges, develop innovative solutions, and ensure continuous improvement.
Technical Proficiency
Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity principles and familiarity with tools like SharePoint, ServiceNow, and data analytics software for reporting and task management.
Required Skills and Experience
Active TS security clearance and eligible for SCI and NATO read-on before starting work.
Minimum 3 years of experience in portfolio management, project management, or program management within the cybersecurity or IT domain.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices.
Familiarity with various cybersecurity technologies, risk management, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with senior leadership, stakeholders, and project teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex situations, make informed decisions, and drive continuous improvement within the Enterprise Cybersecurity Division.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field.
Meet DCWF Framework requirements within the Cybersecurity Enabler Domain.
PMP or CAPM certification.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint); ServiceNow.
Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and technologies.

The proposed salary for this position is:
$110,900—$184,800 USD
