About the Position: Serves as a senior information technology specialist for communications/messaging systems supported by the directorate, performing a variety of complex software engineering, integration, implementation, and support tasks to meet customer requirements, costs, and schedules. Responsibilities Functions as a technical expert/principal action officer for meeting broad objectives in providing messaging capabilities and services. Estimates and justifies required project resources, e.g., monetary and personnel resources. Develops or reviews for accuracy and adequacy implementation plans and schedules, risk management analysis, system and product evaluations, and recommends methods for enhancing customer satisfaction. Analyzes customer requirements, develops support requirements, and arranges for necessary in-house and contractor support personnel. May function as a team leader to direct, conduct, and monitor team efforts. Assigns tasks and provides technical guidance to teams. Use of computer programming languages, operating systems, data base management systems, automated software tools, and test methodologies, to effectively evaluate and implement software system, and to advise team members. Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (NH-02/GS-11). AND Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Experience in gathering Project information for network and circuit engineering requirements. 2) Develop network designs and circuit path design drawings, installing telecommunications, network and/or encryption equipment. 3) Working inside of a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) environment, work with classified networks to include SIPRNet, JWICs, Trojan and/or various SAP networks. 4) Demonstrate various Classification References associated with Classified Networks (i.e. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), NSA/CSS Policy Manual 1-52, "NSA/CSS Classification" and DoD Standards associated Department of Defense MANUAL NUMBER 5200.01) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Information Management Information Systems/Network Security Information Technology Architecture Oral Communication Technical Competence Education Additional Information A current active Top Secret/SCI Clearance is preferred at the time of application, due to this position working in the SCIF.
