U.S. Army Sustainment Command Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist in Fort Carson, Colorado

About the Position: The incumbent will serve as the Senior Logistician and Battalion Deputy Commander providing overall supervisory and management responsibility for all battalion activities, operations, and personnel. Responsibilities Direct, supervise, and manage all logistical activities on a complex installation and make recommendations to the commander on policy, program planning, and program execution. Oversee the maintenance, supply, ammunition, food service, laundry, transportation, property accountability, clothing, and other related logistical activities. Manage a workforce comprised of civilian, military, and contractor personnel performing various logistical functions. Ensure logistical services are provided for the sustainment, mobilization, and rapid deployment of America’s forces while enhancing the environment, security, and well-being of Soldiers, their families and civilians. Direct, assess, and evaluate the readiness of units and identify potential problems, situations, and trends. Recommend multi-year and long-range work plans developed by supervisors and manage the overall work to enhance achievement of goals and objectives. Coordinate the fiscal management of organizational logistics operations providing recommendations to the Commander on the formulation and management of the Battalion operating budget. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Directing, developing, and/or performing logistics management operations; 2) Planning, coordinating, and/or evaluating logistical actions; 3) Providing guidance to senior leaders regarding logistics operations; and 4) Leading, planning, and/or assessing the work of teams in carrying out assigned technical or administrative responsibilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications Financial Stewardship Leadership Manpower & Personnel Planning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
