TOLMAR Inc. Microbiologist I (Onsite) in Fort Collins, Colorado

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00a - 5:00p Purpose and Scope Under direct supervision, ensures product quality and consistency by performing various microbiological laboratory duties. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform routine quality control/quality assurance product testing on pharmaceutical items under GMP and ISO conditions, mainly environmental monitoring, components and raw material testing. Record data accurately and consistently. Compute and analyze data following established test methods and work instructions. Operate and maintain some test instrumentation. Prepare media and solutions. Maintain stock cultures of bacteria and fungi. Maintain notebooks according to GMP guidelines. Assist with environmental monitoring for Aseptic Manufacturing. Participate in required annual hazardous waste training. Hazardous waste involvement may include, but is not limited to container and tank management and inspections, generation of hazardous waste as a part of production or sampling processes and transfer of hazardous waste between lab procedure area, satellite accumulation and storage. Respond to spills per the Chemical Spill Procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Understanding of cGMPs and GDPs Experience with routine culture/molecular techniques, microbial identification procedures, endotoxin and bacterial plating instruments preferre Ability to interpret, understand and follow standard operating procedures Effective oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of microbiology laboratory equipment Knowledge of technical microbiology concepts Attention to detail Effective troubleshooting and problem solving skills Ability to work both independently and in conjunction with a team Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Proficient in use of Microsoft Office programs Acceptable MVR and valid driver's license required. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or closely related field. 1 or more years of laboratory experience including Microbiology within a regulated industry. Working Conditions Working conditions vary; work may be performed in but is not limited to the aseptic area, mechanical areas, and laboratory. Laboratory setting. Education Bachelors of Microbiology (required)
