HP Inc. Solution Validation Engineer for Future Customer Experiences in Fort Collins, Colorado

Job Summary

The Solution Validation Engineer applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and plays a key role in the testing and validation of cutting-edge videoconferencing technology. This role focuses on designing and implementing test solutions and fixtures, developing test plans, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met. The position requires strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of testing principles, and the ability to handle complex problems and unique situations independently.

Responsibilities

  • Test Solution Design and Development:

  • Design engineering solutions for test fixtures, systems, and tools to validate electrical, mechanical, and software components based on established engineering principles and technology development guidelines.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and parameters for new and existing products, focusing on the validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, thermal generation, and system power measurements.

  • Conduct empirical analysis, modeling, and testing to validate the effectiveness and reliability of test solutions and fixtures.

  • Project Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead project teams comprising internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality test solutions for moderately complex products.

  • Facilitate information validation and team decision-making processes, providing guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.

  • Collaborate and communicate with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.

  • Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead initiatives to integrate quality requirements, processes, and practices into the development, design, and continuous improvement of test solutions and fixtures.

  • Review and evaluate test solution designs and implementation activities for potential quality issues, providing tangible feedback and implementing solutions to improve test quality and mitigate risk of failures.

  • Drive innovation and integration of new technologies and quality initiatives into testing projects and activities within the organization.

  • Support Proof of Concept (POC) and Engineering Investigations:

  • Support the development and validation of Proof of Concept (POC) projects to explore and demonstrate new technologies and approaches in videoconferencing.

  • Conduct engineering investigations to identify root causes of issues, analyze test data, and provide actionable insights to improve product performance and reliability.

  • Documentation and Communication:

  • Prepare and present test architectures, design proposals, quality plans, and test results to management levels, negotiating options and ensuring clear, effective communication.

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of test status, project progress, test plans, and quality evaluations.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Typically 7-10 years of experience in a testing-focused engineering role, with a focus on test solution design, development, and validation.

Job Posting Expiration Date: 12/01/2024

The base pay range for this role is $100,000 to $140,000 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
