POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for developing and managing supplier relationships; negotiating contracts and general terms of supply; managing escalations. Ownership for designing and implementing sourcing solutions with key/strategic suppliers that ensure continuity of supply enabling worldwide factories and service centers to operate to the master production schedule that supports customer requirements, corporate cost objectives and enables a quality/ reliable product to be produced. Under the overall direction from the Commodity Managers, responsible for management of performance metrics related to Quality, Delivery, and Cost, and have overall responsibility to analyze and execute plans regarding supplier development, continuous improvement, overall performance, and problem resolution/crisis management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides management support for NPI business and procurement activities as they relate to assigned Suppliers accounts

  • Provides strategic NPI supply chain management by developing negotiation strategy with assigned Suppliers, in support of the overall Commodity Strategies

  • Maintains cost effective sources of supply that support AE’s growth strategies

  • Develops key NPI suppliers that meet AE supplier certification requirements, and reviews and maintains metrics related to supplier certification

  • Evaluates price trends, market trends, new products and manufacturing processes that impact overall commodity performance. Overall responsibilities for price negotiations and all pricing decisions in accordance with commodity strategies, departmental goals and objectives

  • Develops and administers supplier contracts for managing costs, schedules, performance factors, service levels, supplier liability limits, and continuity of supply

  • Manages supply chain projects in support of commodity strategy

  • Collaborates with suppliers to identify non-value-added processes and costs, as well as opportunities for leveraged buying of materials that may be common across platforms in the material supply chain

  • Cooperates with Commodity Managers to provide the overall coordination of the supply chain to ensure continuity of supply and meet corporate strategic needs. This includes helping to ensure the timely delivery of quality parts consistent with cost targets

  • Provide management support and long-term corrective action for supplier escalations to ensure continuity of supply

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment

  • Travel required approximately 25% of time both domestic and international

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven or demonstrated performance developing strategic supplier relationships.

  • Proactive problem solver with strong planning orientation and ability to work material requirement forecasts

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Excellent working knowledge of purchasing, production control, and supply chain management

  • Ability to manage complex supply chain projects

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in supply chain/supplier management in an electronics manufacturing environment

  • Ability to communicate with all levels in an organization

  • Experience with self-directed work teams

  • Experience with a high mix / low volume part procurement environment is preferred

  • Experience in a very high growth rate electronic business is preferred

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Operations Management, or similar degree program.

COMPENSATION:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $70,000 to $100,000 per year.
