Role Overview

This product management position is in the Advanced Compute Solutions Group, which is a high-energy, fast-paced, dynamic organization that offers an exciting and rewarding growth environment within HP. ACS develops the highest performing, most reliable and secure computers built for the industry's most demanding workflows.

Our Workstations power the most demanding workflows for NASA, from the International Space Station to the Solar Dynamics Observatory. We are the computing power behind the most breathtaking VFX in several Hollywood productions that we all love and admire. Our innovative lineup has received several awards, including the prestigious Emmy and the Oscar.

The Z by HP Global Mobile Workstation Product Manager is an essential member of the product management team. This is a super exciting space, and as such, this position requires both advanced technical skills and business acumen to bring products to market and drive adoption post-launch. As a product manager, you will be responsible for driving product execution excellence and assessing in-market performance for our Z by HP Desktop Workstation product line.

This position is located in Fort Collins, CO or Houston, TX.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Develop strong customer relationships and act as their advocate within the company, communicating customer feedback, needs and pains through the organization.

  • Define and track key customer engagement, business plan execution, and in-market performance metrics to manage the business.

  • Analyse data to gain insights into customer experience and product adoption, using this information to guide current business management decisions and future product improvements.

  • Manage the product life cycle from launch through end of life, including release to production and transition planning gen-over-gen.

  • Partner with marketing and sales teams to develop effective Go-to-Market strategies, product positioning, and sales enablement materials.

  • Educate teams across the organization on the global market and competitive landscape via key market data analysis, customer research studies, industry statistics/reporting, and channel/sales force feedback.

Experience, knowledge & skills:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Technical Product Manager or similar role in product lifecycle management

  • Ability to think strategically, balancing a broad range of internal and external factors when identifying opportunities and proposing solutions

  • Excellent business judgment, investigative, and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with diverse teams

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority

  • Able to distil complex concepts into easily understood insights for executive consumption, direction or decision-making

  • Curious about the customer; experience with CX metrics, Customer Journey Mapping, Ideal Customer Profiles, etc. a plus

  • Able to learn and apply, possess a growth mindset and take a creative approach to problem-solving

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Business or related discipline

  • MS or MBA preferred

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is 118,050.00- 171,200.00 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
