UTE INDIAN TRIBE Emergency Medical Services Director in FORT DUCHESNE, Utah

Emergency Medical Services Director - will perform technical work in coordinating medical services and transportation of the sick and injured. 

EMS Director must deal with members of the public, and staff in a courteous and respectful manner. This includes receiving complaints as well as documenting and preparing reports on any such complaints and responding in a courteous and respectful manner. 

 

  • Coordinates medical services and activities of people involved in rescue, transportation, and care of the sick of accident victims
  • Develops and conducts training programs for ambulance and personnel. Maintaining ambulance and all supplies necessary to providing services
  • Maintains communication with mobile and stationary rescue units. Able to provide data for various departments
  • Attend various training, workshops or seminar to upgrade skills and to help advancement of ambulance service
  • On call 24 hours a day 7 days a week, having a cell phone at all times so staff and emergency rooms and some UTE Tribe departments can get ahold of you 24/7, & covering one (1) weekend: if needed
  • Responsible for supervision overall EMS program. Responsible for all financial and progress reports required by funding agencies Federal, State of Local government levels. Maintaining and supervising the bookkeeping systems of tribal and state grants
  • Adheres to any administrative requirements as outlined by Tribal Policy and Procedures, Utah EMS rules and regulations and Association by laws
  • Performs related work as required: works closely as a liaison for the Ute Tribe Ambulance Association, State EMS Council, Indian Health Service, and Emergency Room Staff/ Physicians. Hold regular monthly meeting to keep communication going between departments. Hold regular staff meetings to uphold communication among the EMT's
  • Provide CPR & Basic First Aid Courses to the general public, and Ute Tribe Departments
  • Liaison for the Ute Tribe EMS/Ambulance to various committees
  • Familiar with software, filing, radios, pagers, telephone, ambulance reports, ordering supplies, and any reports that are required from State, Local or Federal Government
