ASRC Federal Holding Company Logistics Specialist in Fort Greely, Alaska

ASRC Federal cyber is seeking a Logistics Specialist at Fort Greely.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Under general supervision of the Project Support Manager, perform a wide range of warehousing and purchasing activities in support of GFORCE. The primary purpose of the Logistics Specialist position is to support warehouse and supply operations for GFORCE at Ft Greely, AK. Logistics Specialists interact regularly with people at a variety of levels, both internal and external the Company.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Loads and unloads materials on and off freight vans or other Moves material by hand, hand truck, forklift, or dolly. Opens and seals crates, boxes, cartons, and other containers using hammers, crowbars, cutting tools, and tape.

  • Receives material purchased locally, inspects material for accuracy, and organizes transportation of materials to remote sites. Consults with customers to help meet their needs regarding the movement of materials.

  • Operates storage warehouse and yard. Stores, stacks, or palletizes materials not shipped immediately in accordance with prescribed storage methods, and considering such factors as size, weight, quantity, spoilage, pilferage, and safety to others. Rearranges and takes inventory of stored materials. Consolidates site and project materials in warehouse.

  • Plans and monitors transportation requirements with Transportation Management Office (TMO).

  • Completes documentation on all shipments to include: DD Form 1149, any required letters of justification, and other paperwork required by a specific shipment. Coordinates priority shipment requirements with the TMO and airlift authority and provides the proper documents and justification letters required to process the shipment. Monitors all shipments to ensure that the shipment arrives on schedule at the correct site and is complete.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Trains new employees in pallet building, weighing, and documentation. Serves as the point of contact for site pallet building assistance.

  • Performs administrative duties and maintains assigned workplace, materials, and equipment in a safe, secure, and neat manner. Maintains records and files related to job.

  • Brings to the attention of the Program Support Manager or Project Manager incidents or circumstances, which could affect the performance of the GFORCE.

Requirements :

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 0-2 years of relevant experience.

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

  • Pre-Employment Drug Screen Required.

  • Drivers License Required.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based, service-oriented environment. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact tactfully and resourcefully with co-workers, vendors, and internal and external customer representatives. Good verbal communication skills and ability to demonstrate telephone professionalism and etiquette required.

  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills and ability to proactively assist customers with their immediate and long-term needs.

  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and prioritize daily work assignments.

  • Demonstrated ability to review paperwork for completeness, appropriateness, and conformity to established policies and procedures. Ability to successfully write memoranda and correspondence relating to procurement.

  • Proven ability to work accurately. Skill in comparing data from a variety of sources for completion of all details. Competent in identifying discrepancies and making corrections.

  • Functional skill in basic arithmetical computations, fractions, decimals, and percentages.

  • Working knowledge of computers and typical applications including word processing (MS Word), spreadsheets (MS Excel), and database (MS Access). Fully functional at keyboarding.

  • Familiar with EESOH-MIS application.

  • Possess the physical ability to lift 50 to waist level.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in accurately completing hazardous materials documentation. Ability to successfully assist in the movement and storage of hazardous cargo and/or materials.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of maintenance management computer systems.

  • Ability to willingly support and assist in the cross training of team members.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of mail handling machinery.

  • Demonstrated ability to train employees in pallet building, weighing, and Serve as the point of contact for site pallet building assistance.
