Summary About the Position: Serve as a Team Lead IT Specialist (Network) for Communications Electronics Command Info Systems Engineering Command, Transmission Systems Dir at Fort Huachuca, AZ. Telework Eligible as determined by the Agency's Policy. Responsibilities Serve as Team Leader responsible for project implementation and execution of large and complex Satellite Communications network systems from inception through completion. Provide technical guidance in all phases of the Satellite Communication systems engineering model, from concept exploration through implementation to include the development of detailed site by site engineering. Prepare final technical reports and briefings encompassing pertinent analysis, conclusions, and recommendations for worldwide Army Satellite Communication systems. Incorporate project execution and planning, considerations such as site preparation, facility validation, installation requirements, required test equipment and quality assurance. Maintain liaison with other federal agencies, academia, and industry to keep abreast of latest technology, available equipment, and systems to meet Army requirements. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others. 2..Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3.Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4.Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND Specialized Experience- One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves;1) Overseeing existing and emerging advanced Satellite Communications network architecture; AND 2). Leading team efforts in the integration and implementation of major network systems for large organizations such as Department of Defense (DOD). AND 3) Resolving complex problems associated with development and implementation of satellite and telecommunication systems. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications Problem Solving Program Management Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13) NOTE: All Current Federal Employees MUST attach a current SF-50 for consideration. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirements using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
