About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Plans and Operations Division, at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Responsibilities Serves as a multi-functional Logistics Management Specialist who provides guidance and staff level support throughout the installation. Assists the Transportation, Maintenance and Supply Divisions with productivity reports, metric management, and organization improvements. Coordinate and research continuous improvement/waiver issues crossing all logistic functions. Works with the Installation staff and Army Field Support Brigade staff to make recommendations for process improvement and analysis of logistic processes for problem areas and solutions. Establishes and conducts biweekly Logistics Workshops and coordinates related logistics issues for the Command Status Report. Specialized Experience Statement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes includes: 1) developing policies and procedures that affect distribution, redistribution, readiness and disposition of systems/equipment; 2) analyzing techniques that measure the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of logistics operations; 3) evaluating logistics deficiencies and problems; 4) communicating verbally/written to advise and provide solutions to logistics problems to higher echelon. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Planning and Evaluating Technical Competence Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
