Responsibilities Assists with developing, coordinating and administering a wide range of fairly typical, conventional and basic reoccurring and nonrecurring aquatic and recreational programs. Assists in coordinating and administering aquatic training/ recertification curriculum to include lifeguarding, lifeguard instructor, and other safety and recreational training. Assists Aquatics/ Wellness Program Manager with publicizing aquatic events. Assists with the development and update of the Standard Operating Procedures for the aquatic facilities, programs and enforces policies. Assists with the arrangement of equipment, supplies and services needed to accomplish assigned functions, under the direction of the Aquatics/ Wellness Program Manager. Assists with new employee required orientation, training/on-the-job training in order to meet all department needs. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications An undergraduate or graduate degree in related fields such as Physical Education, Kinesiology, Sports Administration/ Management, or Recreation may be substituted for twelve (12) months work experience. - This experience may have been gained in an indoor or outdoor environment working with recreational programs, events, and/ or facilities. - Possesses and maintains the following certifications: American Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid; CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED. - Possesses demonstrated experience in planning and executing aquatic or recreational programs/ events. - Possess demonstrated experience in leading or supervising aquatics or recreation staff. Other desirable qualities include: - Lifeguard Instructor (Red Cross). - Water Safety Instructor (Red Cross). - Lifeguard Instructor Trainer (Red Cross). Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
