U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Social Services Support Specialist in Fort Knox, Kentucky

Summary About the Position: Position located at US Army Cadet Command, Headquarters, G1, Soldier and Family Program, Fort Knox, KY Responsibilities Coordinate or carrying out a variety of social services type programs. Serve as a point-of-contact between the organization and the soldier's family members. Coordinate Leased Government Housing as Command point of contact. Assist with planning and implementation of Agency Substance Abuse Program. Serve as Social Media Manager for Soldier and Family Program mission. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service for work which includes (1) Plan, and organize Soldier/Family support programs for organization-wide and assigned personnel; (2) Identify family support program requirements for dispersed military community and (3) ensure guidance and assistance is provided in compliance with regulations and policies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Cost Benefit Analysis Customer Service Information Management Planning and Evaluating Technical Credibility Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this position you may qualify if your education meets the definition below: Basic Education Requirements: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE ATTACHED) OR Combination of education and experience -- that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE ATTACHED) OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.OR3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. (TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE ATTACHED) FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
