Carnival Cruise Line 2025 Internship - eCommerce Engineering Intern in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Job Description

The Princess Summer Internship Program is a 10-week paid (remote) summer internship opportunity designed to provide exposure and insight to professional careers in the amazing leisure travel, cruise industry. The selected interns will work on departmental projects as well as participate in professional development and enrichment activities.

2025 Program Dates (two options)

  • Program runs 10 weeks from June 9th - August 18th or June 16th - August 25th.

Eligibility

  • Eligible candidates are enrolled in a four-year accredited undergraduate program (where they are at least a rising junior) or in a graduate/Ph.D. program and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • MUST NOT be a graduating senior in the summer 2025.

Compensation

  • Undergraduate - $25.00/hr, Graduate - $35.00/hr, Ph.D. - $45.00/hr

Internship Project Details -

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of web applications using React and Java.

  • Collaborate with the development team to build and enhance eCommerce solutions.

  • Participate in the design, coding, testing, and debugging of software applications.

  • Contribute to the creation and optimization of web interfaces and user experiences. engineering, build, and test, inclusive of test automation.

  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

  • Support documentation and project management tasks as needed.

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to apply new techniques and tools.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of web applications using React and Java.

Requirements

  • Proficiency using MS office Suite including Outlook & MS Teams

  • Ability to work independently, remotely and self-manage

  • Well organized and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and managers.

  • The types of duties the students will perform will vary and may require some technical tasks, projects and/or work that may require specific proficiencies, technical abilities and/or computer skills.

Majors Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science/Math

Skills Preferred

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Basic understanding of React and Java, with practical experience through coursework, projects, or previous internships.

  • Familiarity with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

  • Exposure to eCommerce platforms and technologies is a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services.

  • Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
