Join our team as a Principal Embedded Verification Engineer , where you will play a pivotal leadership role in ensuring the safety and effectiveness of our groundbreaking surgical robotics platform. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, execute, and refine software verification strategies for components during product development, manufacturing, and service phases. Mentor team members, drive innovative solutions, and contribute to advancing healthcare technology. This position reports to the Engineering Manager, providing opportunities for leadership and technical growth in a dynamic and supportive environment.

What You Will Do

  • You will develop and execute robust software verification plans and test procedures for robotic platform components.

  • You will design, develop, and validate software solutions to meet design and regulatory requirements.

  • You will identify and resolve technical challenges, ensuring alignment with project timelines and goals.

  • You will mentor team members on software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.

  • You will collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to define and implement effective testing methods.

  • You will create and maintain engineering documentation, including design requirements and system specifications.

  • You will drive continuous improvement of testing processes, systems, and tools to ensure compliance and efficiency.

  • You will lead or contribute to the design and development of innovative testing solutions to support manufacturing and service needs.

  • You will provide technical leadership to the department bringing best practices and increasing the team competencies while defining long-term strategy for the team.

  • You will deliver high-quality, validated test plans and procedures on schedule.

  • You will demonstrate effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones.

  • You will ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal quality procedures.

  • You will drive measurable improvements in testing efficiency and reliability.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline is required.

  • 8+ years of experience in software testing, engineering, embedded verification, or R&D roles in a regulated industry is required.

What We Would Love That You Have (Preferred Qualifications)

(You do not need to have all of these)

  • Familiarity with programming languages like MATLAB, C/C++, or Python.

  • Ability to use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and similar tools.

  • Proven ability to lead teams in generating and reviewing technical documents, including requirements and design specifications, developing test fixtures, and implementing test cases.

  • Experience with computer systems and fixture validation.

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards in a medical or similarly regulated environment (preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, test plans, and case development.

  • Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes such as Agile or Waterfall.
