Conduct comprehensive functional and operational analysis of all projects. Oversee the review and analysis of all completed projects from subordinate units for technical quality, appropriate levels of coordination, consistency, logic, soundness of recommendations, and compliance with established objectives. Oversee the operation and maintenance of formal action and suspense tracking systems, unit battle rhythm, and calendar. Represent the organization at key meetings, working groups, in-progress reviews, and video teleconferences. Prepare a variety of official correspondence, e.g., information papers, decision memorandums, point papers, briefings, and Executive Summary (EXSUMs) on issues and areas of responsibility. This includes (1) understanding the problems of custody, treatment, training, and release of inmates of penal or correctional institutions; (2) a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of an institution's internal policies, programs, regulations, and procedures; and (3) training subordinates, coordinating and directing activities and functions, evaluating performance of operations and the effectiveness of programs, and maintaining high standards or work objectives. This experience must have been gained in an administrative position, or in other positions that included the successful direction, or assistance in the direction of, an entire correctional program or a major phase of such a program. You must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal Service which includes (1) producing and distributing operations orders; (2) managing taskings for an organization; and (3) reviewing guidance from higher authority and refining/updating organizational policies and/or regulations to meet requirements. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications Influencing/Negotiating Planning and Evaluating Program Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
