U.S. Army Security Assistance Command Contract Management Support Officer in Fort Liberty, North Carolina

About the Position: This position serves as a Contract Management Support Officer for the U.S. Army Security Training Management Organization Office. Responsibilities Review emerging and developing contracting efforts and develop plans to meet on-time awards to support mission accomplishment. Interpret and develops guidance for the identification, research analysis and development of business process constructs and initiatives for contract vehicle selection. Provide technical expertise in the strategic planning and direction of long-term and short-terms goals and objectives. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of a broad range of Federal and agency contract laws, regulations, and procedures applicable to perform and/or participate in all phases of the acquisition process. Provide recommendations to senior leaders in developing Command level strategies and organizational processes to better position the Command for current and future operations. Proficient understanding of principles, policies, and practices of Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for preparing Performance Work Statement (PWS), Quality Assurance Surveillance Plans (QASP), and Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes directing, coordinating, and monitoring contract management support activities; planning and advising on the implementation of procedures, and processes in areas of productivity, quality management, and continuous improvement initiatives for contracting operations; and coordinating with staff and higher headquarters to accomplish objectives and resolve conflict. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications Organizational Performance Analysis Planning and Evaluating Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
