Skookum is seeking a dedicated and professional Plumber Lead with a positive attitude.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Reviews work assignments for the Plumbing, Gas Fitter, Welder, Pipefitter and General Maintenance areas and determine individual or partner task functional approach/delivery.

  • Ensures work orders are completed in a timely manner.

  • Provides technical expertise to Site Manager for in house or subcontract accomplishment.

  • Communicates and interacts directly with the customer, informing the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs.

  • Assigns, coordinates and tracks technicians work assignments as well as reviewing work orders, monitoring the safety and well-being of employees, and documenting completed assignments.

  • Reviews completed work for quality, completeness and customer satisfaction.

  • Responsible for plumbing related work scheduling, quality control of outcome, and project closeout.

  • Provides inspection of the structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe and locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors. Determines best application and process to install a wide variety of plumbing fixtures, connections, and plumbing transit systems.

  • Communicates with work control to update status of repairs and estimate completion dates.

  • Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customers.

  • Communicates with scheduler to update status of repairs and estimate completion dates.

  • Ensure that QC inspections are corrected on time and followed up on.

  • Conduct supply and equipment inventory of storage areas.

  • Maintain, repair, install, inspect, remove, replace, and modify all plumbing equipment and components for water, sewer, swimming pools, inert gas, natural gas, air vacuum, compressed air systems, steam, and POL equipment.

  • Removing blockage from drain lines, both interior and exterior sewers within 5 feet of the building, floor drains, fan coil units, air handling units, stacks, vents, and storm drainage systems.

  • Adjusting, repairing, or replacing leaky joints, faucets, and other outlets as necessary to maintain proper and efficient operation of all related plumbing a d steam fitting systems including, but not limited to, hot water systems, chilled water systems, potable water systems, compressed and vacuum air systems, valves, inert and natural gas systems, and other associated systems, equipment, and components.

  • Installing and repairing domestic, industrial, and commercial hot water heaters, hot water storage tanks, and plumbing fixtures, equipment, and components, including commodes, urinals, kitchen and utility sinks, water fountains, frost-proof hydrants, showers, bathtubs, lavatories, shower pans, garbage disposals, dishwashers, fan and air handler coils, valves, pumps, and associated equipment and components.

  • Placing and connecting water, air, natural gas, sewage and water/storm fixtures to such as sewage lines, water closets, lavatories, showers, sinks, gas heaters, stoves, air compressor equipment, shop hydraulic vehicle lifts, cooling towers, grease traps, garbage disposals, dishwashers, floor drains, condensate and drip pans, circulation systems for heating and cooling systems, and associated equipment and components.

  • Apply all codes to installations, repairs and maintenance.

  • Ensure all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met.

  • Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported and graded.

  • Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements.

  • Reads and understands blueprints, work plans, and maps.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Journeyman Plumber preferred.

  • Experience in all areas of general contracting/industrial maintenance.

  • UFC 3-601-02 and NICET II or III (with supporting documentation) preferred.

  • Medical gas certification preferred (NFPA 99 qualification for Liquid Oxygen Systems (LOX) and Medical Gas Systems).

  • Required: Minimum of 3 years of mentoring and guiding similar craftsmen in the field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of commercial/industrial experience.

  • Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints.
