Summary About the Position: Headquarters, US Army Forces Command Fort Liberty, North Carolina. Fort Liberty is a culturally diverse area with rural and city populations, co-located at Fayetteville, NC centrally located in the beautiful state of North Carolina, which enjoys a temperate year-round climate and world-renowned colleges and universities. Fayetteville is centrally located between the beautiful beaches of North Carolina and the scenic Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains Responsibilities Patrols highly sensitive and restricted areas (by vehicle or foot) to ensure highly sensitive, restricted, and classified information and equipment is secured. Enforce specialized personnel access procedures and detect trespassing violations in order to protect and prevent unauthorized access to highly sensitive, restricted areas. Protects government equipment and material, guarding access points, protecting personnel in and around the HQ, FORSCOM/USARC AOR from criminal elements, sabotage, attempted espionage, or direct attacks by enemy or terrorist inspired forces. Serves as first responders and security to intrusion and duress alarms for classified and unclassified areas IAW emergency alarm procedures. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes such as work with a Federal, State, municipal, local, or private protective organization that involved the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; or maintaining order and protecting life. Maintain order, protecting life, writing and reviewing incident reports and responding to emergency situations and security breaches. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral Communication Physical Security Security Assessment Security Enforcement Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
