Army National Guard Units SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC LEADER (TITLE 32) in Fort Liberty, North Carolina

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC LEADER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1287000 and is part of the NC G4, National Guard (G4 - MATES/ Manning Doc 7021-402). Responsibilities As a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC LEADER, WL-5801-10, you will assign work orders to specific crewmembers and select workers for various jobs on the basis of knowledge, skills, and abilities; assure that there is enough work to keep the work crew busy; troubleshoot, perform maintenance and major repairs on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical and automotive vehicles; troubleshoot equipment and diagnose the cause of mechanical failures; remove and disassemble engines and major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and fuel, hydraulic, and oil pressure systems; independently perform repairs and maintenance functions with little or no supervision in remote locations; conduct readiness and repair inspections on vehicles and associated equipment supported by the activity; assist in the maintenance of production reports and records, and make recommendations to the supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: Enlisted (E5 to E9) or Warrant Officer (WO1 to CW4) Minimum Requirements: Experience or training that has provided the candidate with sufficient knowledge to complete the work of this occupational series. Experience or training which demonstrates the candidates ability to lead other technicians engaged in the duties performed by this occupational series. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least 24 months of experience In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series. Must have the ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment. The ability to provide guidance to others in work related directly to this occupational series.
