U.S. Army Cyber Command Protocol Specialist in Fort Meade, Maryland

Summary About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. You may need to complete a 3 year probationary period, if applicable. This position is with 7th Signal Command, located at Fort Meade, Maryland. Responsibilities Write and edit formal programs for various workshops, conferences, and social events. Arrange proper escorts for, or personally escorts visiting dignitaries and distinguished visitors, ensuring proper parking facilities and clearance passes are available. Track action suspense dates and Command correspondence released by the COS. Maintain signature authority, determining which documents may be signed. Compile incoming correspondence, taskings, and correspondence for COS signature. Formulate sequence of events, briefs all participants at all levels of DA according to regulations and individual desires. Plan, coordinate, and implement high level military/civilian visits and functions that support the command. Determine attendees, established sequence of events, and requirements such a but not limited to , transportation, arrival and departure coordination, accommodations, scheduling facilities, support personnel, and catering needs. Act as official representative and/or host for the Commander and Senior Staff members at points of arrival, meetings/briefings, social events and other official activities. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by: GG 9- knowledge working out detailed agendas to avoid loss of time from one function to another and consolidating, as necessary; assisting in the reviewing, analyzing, and determining which organization should receive and process certain actions; assisting in the planning, developing, and executing a variety of highly visible activities such as but not limited to Change of Command Ceremonies, conferences, awards and promotions; familiarity with establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships by networking with visitors or their representatives. OR Education: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Communications, Human Resources Management or Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. GG 11- experience working out detailed agendas to avoid loss of time from one function to another and consolidating, as necessary; knowledge reviewing, analyzing, and determining which organization should receive and process certain actions; experience in the planning, developing, and executing a variety of highly visible activities such as but not limited to Change of Command Ceremonies, conferences, awards and promotions; experience establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships by networking with visitors or their representatives. OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Communications, Human Resources Management or Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
