ManTech Senior Systems Administrator in Fort Meade, Maryland

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior System Administrator to join our team in the Fort Meade, MD . This position is part of a team that provides engineering and Information Technology services to provision, manage, sustain, innovate, modernize, refresh, reengineer, and secure the Nuclear Command and Control (NC2) and Non-NC2 cryptographic production infrastructure.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.

  • Management of IT system infrastructure and any processes related to those systems

  • Providing support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices

  • Providing problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.

  • Configuration and management of Windows operating systems and installing/loading operating system software

  • Administering and securing network switching and routing devices

  • Managing and maintaining network security through the use of access controls and path management

  • Implementing, troubleshooting IT systems.

  • Performing daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.

  • Providing Tier 2 / Tier 3 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.

  • Optimizing system operations and resource utilization and performing system capacity analysis and planning.

  • Configuring and managing Windows operating systems and installing/loading operating system software.

  • Implementing operating systems enhancements improving reliability and performance.

  • Providing detailed analysis and feedback to customers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience or 10 years of total experience with Security + Certification.

  • Experience with:

  • Implementing, troubleshooting IT systems.

  • Performing daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.

  • Providing Tier 1 / Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.

  • Optimizing system operations and resource utilization and performing system capacity analysis and planning.

  • Configuring and managing Windows operating systems and installing/loading operating system software.

  • Implementing operating systems enhancements improving reliability and performance.

  • Providing detailed analysis and feedback to customers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with:

  • Windows Operating System (Server & Desktop)

  • Exchange / Active Directory

  • Basic network administration (Cisco routers/switches)

  • Atlassian tool suite (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)

  • Working within a software development environment

  • Agile methodology

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Currently hold an active TS/SCI with polygraph

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.

The projected compensation range for this position is $121,800.00-$204,100.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
