Our Digital Modernization sector needs a results-oriented Systems Architect to support the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Enterprise Center’s (NEC) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Division at Fort Meade, MD.

Our customer, directed by the Commander, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), applies subject matter expertise and best practices to translate mission and operational requirements into solutions and operational capabilities. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams, government product and process owners, and stakeholders to ensure that the engineering, architecture and/or Configuration Management artifacts are produced as required by our government customer.

What will you do in this role?

  • Work as a contributing member of the Sustainment & Evolution Configuration Management team within NEC SE&I that will describe and integrate all current planning for modification, upgrade, evolution, and modernization of existing Nuclear C3 systems. These activities will focus on implementing System-of-System methodologies and integrating Nuclear C3 System Architectures into a detailed Enterprise Architecture.

  • Work with NC3 Enterprise Change Advisory Panel which includes facilitating the Configuration Management (CM) process workflows with the NC3 Enterprise Change Advisory Panel; and present findings and recommendations to the System Engineering and Architecture (SEA) Board governance bodies.

  • Work with senior engineers to develop the digital engineering strategy for the NC3 Enterprise that includes CM process automated/digitized workflows; a configuration management application requirements document and federated data framework; and automated audit/verification processes.

  • Advise the Government on continuous improvement recommendations to the SE&I Systems Engineering Rubric for evaluating the merits of new/enhanced NC3 capabilities.

  • Work alongside other Systems Architects with NC3 Enterprise subject matter expertise to support the digital engineering data strategy.

Basic Qualifications

  • Current Top Secret clearance with immediate SCI read-in eligibility.

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years' OR Associate's Degree and 7+ years' OR High School Diploma and 9+ years' relevant experience.

  • Possess one or more of the following:

o Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or educational equivalent.

o The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) certification.

o DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) certification.

  • At least five (5) years of experience in all of the following:

o Establishing system information requirements.

o Designing architectures to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces.

o Evaluating problems of workflows, organization, and planning and develops appropriate corrective action.

  • Experience with DoDAF AV, OV, and SV artifacts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with senior Nuclear C3 community stakeholders such as NEC, USSTRATCOM, the Joint Staff, and OSD.

  • Understanding of, and experience, with operations and technical characteristics of Nuclear C3 systems to include strategic communications systems, sensor and radar systems, and communications systems deployed at nuclear command centers and on nuclear capable platforms.

  • Ability to apply system engineering techniques and/or system architecture concepts to specific secure and survivable communications.

  • Experience conducting architecture/performance trade-off analysis, and engineering designs of Nuclear C3 Systems.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
