Job Description

Summary of Position

A Maintenance Technician III is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairing production equipment as required, while working with the shift lead hand and members of the team to complete electrical and mechanical projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain production equipment to maximize operating performance and assist with maintaining electrical spare parts' inventory levels.
  • Perform repairs on equipment attorestore it to proper and safe working conditions.
  • Perform installation, set up, modification and relocation of equipment to accommodate production requirements.
  • Read/write electrical and electronic schematics/diagrams, basic hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and componentsfor continuity,current,voltage and resistance
  • Ensure the production schedule is not jeopardized due to machine breakdown
  • Always follow LOCK OUT procedures
  • Adhere to work orders, preventive/predictive maintenance systems by filling in required forms
  • Perform preventative/predictive maintenance to all production equipment as required.
  • Complete electrical and mechanical projects based on direction given from Maintenance Supervisor as required by government regulation.
  • Demonstrate safe work practices and follow company safety policies, procedures, and regulations always.
  • Initiate and complete all other jobs, projects and special assignments as directed by Maintenance Supervisor
  • Maintain compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and recommend measures toimprovehealthand safety.
  • Repair and replace electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic and electronic components such as motors, contactors, relays, timers, types of switches, PLCs, light curtains, motor?controls?and?valves.

Able to read wiring diagrams, electrical/mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics and ladder/function block logic.

Working knowledge of industrial PCs and PLCs (Siemens Step 7, Beckhoff TwinCat, etc.) and electric circuitry consisting of contactors, relays, main?voltage/control?voltage, limit switches and?proximity sensors
