PRIME AE Group, Inc. (www.primeeng.com), a multi-faceted A&E firm with 23 offices in 10 States and over 500 employees throughout the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Northeast, is seeking a Bridge Designer II to join our Transportation Business Group in one of our Transportation offices (Columbus, Cincinnati, or Ft. Mitchell).

Position Overview:

The primary focus of this role will be to apply structural engineering and detailing techniques on projects that typically include bridge design (steel plate girder/rolled beam, prestressed concrete, and post-tensioned components) for highway and railway projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work with standard bridge engineering/design procedures, develop structural details using specialized structural design and analysis software, perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.

• Perform design calculations, estimates, and specifications, develop plan and details/layouts using CAD, quantity take offs, and technical report writing.
• Perform design and analysis of new and existing bridges, including rehabilitation design for transportation projects.

• Participate in bridge condition inspections, inspections of other transportation related structures, and inspection report preparation.
• Perform bridge load ratings.
• Perform construction engineering demo/erections calculations, temporary shoring, and falsework.
• Review shop drawings.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Engineering Intern or Engineer-In-Training Certificate.
• 2 years of relevant bridge design experience.
• Finite Element Methods (FEM) analysis experience is desired.
• Working knowledge of MicroStation and/or OpenRoads.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
