GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position is assigned to the District Sales Office and reports directly to the District Manager. The primary responsibility is to assist the District Manager in achieving the District’s sales goals by fulfilling a multi-faceted professional sales and sales management role within the organization. Duties of this position include the supervision of assigned Sales Representatives. The incumbent is responsible for interacting with all retailer accounts within the district to build partnerships and to improve the sales volume for such accounts. The incumbent will be expected to work in the field as directed by their immediate supervisors. This position may require travel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Each employee is expected to be knowledgeable of the Lottery’s Responsible Gaming program, including the No Underage Play and Play Within Your Means messaging, and will ensure retailers and players are aware of the program and provided information, as necessary.
Supervises and evaluates the work of assigned sales staff, and effectively manages work schedules, work assignments, disciplinary actions, and other personnel actions.
Prepares and/or supervises the preparation of reports to provide management with information regarding instant ticket sales, retailer recruitment and retention, settlements, operational costs, and marketing surveys.
Reviews and approves the daily activity reports, fleet vehicle reports, and timesheets prepared by Sales Representatives.
Monitors information entered into mobile sales tool by sales representatives.
Instructs and updates all Sales Representatives on new procedures, techniques, sales programs, and technical applications.
Orients new Sales Representatives to assigned territories.
Trains Sales Representatives on the Lottery’s line of scratch-off and draw gaming products.
Trains Sales Representatives on appropriate sales and marketing techniques to be used when working with retailers.
Operates a motor vehicle as required to fulfill the duties of the position, which may include overnight trips.
Coaches, monitors, and assists Sales Representatives to ensure assigned sales goals are achieved.
Assists with and monitors ADA compliance within all territories.
Concentrates efforts on helping retailers increase Lottery sales through inventory management and best practice.
Thoroughly explains the paperwork required to document retailer inventory levels and special accountability requirements such as stolen ticket reports, partial book returns, end of game procedures, and retailer terminations.
Schedules regular visits with Sales Representatives to assist in increasing sales through new product information, reviewing sales goals and quotas, recommended changes for improvement when appropriate, and the use of special promotions.
Identifies and recommends promotional and marketing opportunities within the District.
Consistently develops and maintains profitable relationships with small corporate partners.
Works with the District Manager to identify strategies for improving sales throughout the assigned district.
Works across territorial boundaries to assist Sales Representatives with sales and marketing efforts designed to implement District strategies and to substantially improve the overall volume of sales within the assigned District.
Assists Sales Representatives with the implementation of these strategies within their assigned territories.
Assists in territory routing structure and design.
Assists in identifying, planning, and implementation of events and promotions.
Coordinates and communicates with Retailer Contracting, Games Administration, and all District Offices, as well as other Lottery departments.
Provides small corporate accounts a “one stop” communication and liaison link with and between corporate management and all Lottery offices.
Coordinates and monitors district vehicle fleet, maintenance, and appropriately documents actions.
Ensures compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Assist district office when needed.
Attendance is an essential function of this position.

Ability to travel as required by the position, which may require operating a motor vehicle and overnight travel.
Skill in preparing and delivering sales and marketing presentations.
Knowledge of Lottery scratch-off and on-line gaming products.
Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of product marketing and retail sales, and successful inventory management.
Knowledge of Lottery sales and marketing policies and procedures.

Successful passing of a criminal background check (state, local, and national) is required .
A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).

The types of confidential information may include, but are not limited to, payroll information, budget matters, policy decisions, tax matters, employee disciplinary issues, and other personnel data.
