Responsibilities Serves as an Instructor in the CYS Instructional Program Develops individual and group lesson plans, implement changes or adjustments to instructional program and plans. Interacts with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques. Work under the written and verbal direction of the supervisor; instructional classes are normally performed independently with technical assistance available from supervisor with required. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications 1. Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate. 2. Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal). 3. Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment. 4. Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors. 5. Possess and maintain health and freedom from communicable disease. 6. Demonstrated skill/evidence of competence in instructional area of dance, art, martial arts, gymnastics, music, or other instructional abilities. Preferred are those candidates who possess a Professional Certificates/Credentials; or Associates Degree or higher with 15 semester hours of college credit in the area of instruction. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
