Robert Half Buyer Associate - ADV in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Buyer Associate - ADV in FORT WAYNE, Indiana. This role is primarily involved in assisting with contracts and order creation, processing customer applications, and handling materials and resources required for various office functions.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in sourcing materials and resources necessary for the company's operations

• Work on contracts and order creation, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date

• Use Microsoft Excel for planning and scheduling tasks, maintaining quality and productivity

• Handle customer service duties, resolving inquiries and communicating effectively with stakeholders

• Process customer credit applications and payment processing in a timely and efficient manner

• Maintain and monitor customer accounts, taking appropriate action when necessary

• Handle materials and ensure their proper distribution as part of materials handling responsibilities

• Assist in training initiatives, sharing knowledge about time management, finance, and engineering aspects of the job

• Oversee accounts payable (AP) and invoice matters, ensuring all financial transactions are handled properly

• Manage purchase orders and shipping tasks, coordinating with the production team for smooth operations. Requirements • Proven experience in a buyer or procurement role in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively negotiate contracts and handle disputes

• Experience in sales, with a strong understanding of market dynamics and sound judgment for product selection

• Proficient in office functions and Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze procurement data

• Ability to handle documentation accurately and in a timely manner

• Experience in training and guiding junior team members

• Strong planning and scheduling skills to ensure timely delivery of products

• Familiarity with accounts payable (AP), invoice processing, and payment processing

• Experience in materials handling, ensuring the quality of products received

• Knowledge of contracts and purchasing orders

• Understanding of finance, production, credit, and productivity concepts

• Engineering knowledge can be beneficial

• Experience in shipping and handling logistics

• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain productive relationships

• Knowledge of 'About Time' software could be advantageous.
