Divisional Sales Manager of Building Materials Location: Fort Wayne, IN Level: Salaried Division / Department: Lumber & Building Materials Reporting to position: Director of LBM Operations Travel: 20%-30% About the Role: The Divisional Sales Manager of Building Materials will be responsible for managing four distinct business units and driving sales growth across multiple product categories. This role requires a strong leader with the ability to inspire and coach teams, as well as an innovative strategist who can leverage data insights and customer relationship management tools to expand the division's market share. The successful candidate will manage a dynamic team of Building Materials Traders, LBM Field Sales Millwork Specialists, and Interior Solutions Specialists. They will be tasked with both growing sales from existing members and attracting new members to increase market share. Responsibilities include:
Lead and manage the sales four separate product categories within the Building Materials Division to capture share of wallet from existing members and grow market share with new members:
Building Materials Traders: Inside sales team focused on building materials (Gypsum, Roofing, Insulation, Metals).
LBM Field Sales: Responsible for members and prospects to drive LBM Sales.
Millwork Specialists: Inside sales team dedicated to Millwork products (Doors, Windows, Door Shops).
Interior Solutions Specialists: Inside sales team focused on selling Cabinets, Flooring, and Appliances.
Utilize data-driven insights to identify trends, optimize sales strategies, and guide decision-making processes to increase revenue and improve performance metrics.
Driving member participation in building material programs by actively engaging your team to proactively promote to and engage Do it Best members.
Developing and implementing productivity metrics and tools to demonstrate team and individual effectiveness.
Develop and lead strategic planning for Building Materials division
Represent Do it Best Building Materials within the vendor community/events
Foster a culture of servant leadership, accountability, and teamwork, ensuring a positive and collaborative work environment.
Coach, mentor, and develop the sales teams, ensuring that each team member has the support they need to reach their potential.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor degree preferred, but business experience that shows critical thinking experience is also acceptable.
5+ years’ experience managing and directing a team of building material buyers and/or professional sales staff.

Sales Coaching & Mentoring: Strong coaching abilities to help team members reach their potential and develop professionally.
Client Relationship Management: Expertise in building and maintaining strong relationships with members, ensuring their needs are prioritized.
Market Expansion: Ability to lead efforts to expand market share by both increasing wallet share from current members and attracting new ones.
