DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: The General Accountant will complete month-end and year-end closing process, prepare journal entries, intercompany eliminations and consolidated financial statements.

Education and Experience Requirements * Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance or related field or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities.

Job Responsibilities * Perform month-end and year-end close process; prepare adjusting and consolidating journal entries and generate financial statements. * Analyze total corporate and departmental expenses and create reclass entries as needed. * Prepare and analyze account reconciliations. * Gather and provide information to assist with the yearly financial audit. * Maintain the fixed asset and associated depreciation schedules and ensure proper recording of new purchases, disposals and transfers. * Gather data to complete sales and use tax returns and other required state tax filings. * Maintain general ledger account structure in ERP system and financial statement setups. * Update ERP system with daily/weekly/monthly information i.e. currency rates. * Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary. * Document policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility. * Cross-train to provide back-up for other accounting personnel in their assigned activities. * Interface and provide support to other departments within Fort Wayne Metals Research Products Corp. * Perform other duties as requested by management.

Skills Needed * Able to research, gather, analyze, and interpret data. * Able to work without close supervision and be capable of self-checking completed work. * Excellent organizational skills and able to complete tasks within specified time periods. * Able to effectively communicate within all levels of an organization, internal and external. * Must possess excellent collaborative skills; able to thrive in a team environment.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements * Fast-paced office environment. * Typical work hours consist of 45+ hours per week. * May be required to travel between facilities. * Sitting and working at a computer for extended periods of time. * Visual acuity.
