Community Health Systems Patient Care Technician - Full Time Night Shift - MedSurg in Fort Wayne, Indiana

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of a unit Supervisor and the clinical leadership of a registered nurse, performs basic patient care procedures, clerical and reception services to support the unit health care team. May work as a Student Intern or Graduate Intern in coordination with the Student Apprentice position for additional exposure and experiences in a patient care setting.

MINIMAL ACCEPTABLE JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Registration/Certification/Licensure:

CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification) within three (3) months of hire

Experience:

No specific experience is required. Lutheran will provide a formalized training class; successful completion is required in order to continue employment. Additional orientation specific to unit responsibilities may also be provided.

Education:

High school diploma or its equivalent (GED)*

Currently enrolled (and in good standing) in a nursing program

*A minimum of three years of direct patient care experience in a healthcare facility will be accepted in lieu of education.
