Parkview Health Provider Ed Coordinator in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Summary

The Provider Education Coordinator is responsible for development and coordination of educational activities within Parkview Health, including, but not limited to, undergraduate medical education, continuing medical education, and simulation-based learning. Assists with planning and implementing education strategies for departments and professional groups both within the organization and outside of the organization. Responsible for ensuring that all programs are in alignment with policies and accreditation requirements.

Position Focus:

Supports all the medical student schedules during the academic year. Serves as liaison with numerous medical schools to communicate rotation availability. Engages teaching faculty as needed to meet medical student rotation demands. Processes all medical student requests for rotations in a timely manner. Meets with all medical students on the first day of their rotation and provides a comprehensive orientation and onboarding. Manages the faculty/resident/student interface to optimize each medical student’s educational experience while rotating at Parkview Health. Schedules formal feedback sessions for faculty and medical students. Ensures all faculty evaluations are completed and returned at the completion of each medical student rotation. Participates in recruitment fairs at medical schools in conjunction with residency coordinator(s). Investigates opportunities to enhance Parkview Health’s presence at surrounding medical schools. Oversees the various medical student interactions to optimize Parkview Health’s ability to recruit from this pool of medical students for future residency training. Serves as the primary contact for all medical students requesting rotations in their area of interest. Responsible for collaborative development and coordination of all CME programs. Ensures CME and UME programs meet all policies and accreditation requirements. Assists with designing/implementing CME courses and evaluating course outcomes to improve patient care. Meets documentation and reporting requirements for each program. Works cooperatively, collaboratively, and supportively with all concerned parties. Provides exceptional medical student and PPG physician experience in every interaction.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in education, business, communication, marketing, organizational development or related medical field.

Licensure/Certification

Valid driver's license

Experience

Minimum of one year of education coordination experience in a hospital or healthcare related field. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite products.

Other Qualifications

Good verbal and written communication skills; and ability to work independently using critical thinking skills.
