Sales Training & Business Development Manager

Level: Salaried Division / Department: Sales and Business Development Reporting to position: Director of Strategic Business Development

Travel: As needed (Markets and Conferences, Regional Meetings, Member visits) About the Role: The Sales Training and Business Development Manager is responsible for training and developing the sales team along with managing strategic sales initiatives. The position will work cross functionally with several departments in the company. The position will be a key contributor to supporting ideas, programs and presentations that will assist members’ growth while working closely with the Sales Management team to achieve the company goals. Focus on these key areas of responsibility will yield the strengthening of the selling skills of the sales team along with supporting members growth with the development of strong retail focused programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and leading training to educate the sales team on strategic sales initiatives and programs.

  • Develop and coordinate on-boarding for new members of the sales team. Will monitor the progress of the new team members along with their manager to ensure sales team members are quickly learning core competencies to allow them to drive sales.

  • Will work with sales leadership on both strategy and development of Member Profit Generators along with other key strategic initiatives. Will work cross-functionally with Merchandising, Marketing and Finance to manage the development of MPG levers to ensure the sales team is able to execute each lever to drive sales. This will include development of sales collaterals, sales reporting to assist in the sales process as well as developing a value proposition and sales talking points for every lever.

  • Will manage the sales reporting process on Member Profit Generator results along with the metrics for the sale’s team business plans.

  • Special assignments and projects as required by sales leadership

    Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in sales/marketing/business or related experience

  • Prior sales support and/or industry experience

  • Prior leadership and management experience
