Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Cash Application Specialist in Fort Worth, Texas. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for performing cash application tasks and related accounting duties, such as daily cash posting, reconciling customer accounts, analyzing remittance information to accurately apply customer payments, and preparing electronic payment detail for scanning.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, reviewing paperwork, processing adjustments, and posting manual invoices to customer accounts.

• Apply daily cash received by Automated Clearing House (ACH), lockboxes, and other means to customer accounts utilizing the appropriate system.

• Process remittance information and review instructions accompanying items to determine proper payment application to reconcile customer accounts accordingly.

• Process and reconcile remote bank deposits utilizing remote deposit bank scanner.

• Balance and reconcile spreadsheets that track daily cash application by division to maintain accurate detail for the systems in which payments are applied.

• Prepare weekly and monthly customer statements.

• Initiate communication with internal and external accounting personnel to resolve routine to moderately difficult customer account issues and discrepancies.

• Distribute short pay credit memos and supporting detail to appropriate accounting personnel.

• Monitor, process, and eliminate appropriate chargebacks and unapplied cash from customer accounts.

• Investigate and perform collection calls for delinquent accounts. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) is required

• Experience with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions is necessary

• Familiarity with Billing Functions is a must

• Ability to manage and monitor Cash Activity effectively

• Proficiency in Cash Applications is expected

• Experience in Cash Posting is required

• Ability to perform Cash Reconciliations accurately

• Familiarity with Lock Box operations is a must
