Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the supervision of the Infection Control Director, the Infection Control Coordinator is responsible for the ongoing surveillance of infectious diseases present in the hospital and takes appropriate steps to contain and prevent the acquisition and transmission of infectious agents in accordance with CDC guidelines and hospital policies. The coordinator is responsible for public reporting of hospital acquired infections to NHSN, CDC, TDH and Tarrant County Health Department. Provides support to the Infection Control Director with development and implementation of policies and protocols. Provides orientation to new staff associates regarding infection control principles and provides ongoing education and resources for patient care units.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing or a bachelor’s degree in an infection control related field.

• Minimum of 3 years healthcare experience.

• Broad knowledge and familiarity with healthcare-related regulatory and accreditation requirements.

• Current RN license in the State of Texas or RN with temporary permit to practice from the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas, preferred.

• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required within 1 year of employment without an RN licensure
