We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) as part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless, and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation aircraft.

This position is onsite in Fort Worth.

FLRAA Aircraft Systems Integration Manager

The Manager, FLRAA Systems Integration is responsible for managing a team of Aircraft Integration System Engineers to successfully integrate all subsystems and software onto the FLRAA platform.

This role provides technical guidance and support to design teams for developing aircraft and subsystem design requirements, validation, integration, and verification of aircraft functions hosted in software and programmable hardware.

The Aircraft Systems Integration team will support the design IPTs in the successful execution of the FLRAA software agile development process to meet FLRAA program schedule.

What you’ll be doing as the FLRAA Aircraft Systems Integration Manager:

  • Facilitate aircraft architecture decisions and interface evaluations.

  • Organize and manage the Aircraft System Integration team to successfully integrate software functionality for the aircraft.

  • Support the creation and management of aircraft capability threads which logically group software functionality for iterative agile development.

  • Assigning aircraft capability threads to team members for execution ownership.

  • Ensure functional and requirement decomposition is validated for aircraft capability threads across the system/sub-systems in support of design IPTs.

  • Ensure Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) & Azure DevOps (ADO) dependencies/linkages exist between IPTs’ tasks to support aircraft capability thread development.

  • Aircraft System Integration team task planning for aircraft capability thread integration into the System Integration Lab (SIL).

  • Ensure Integration analysis at the SIL and Aircraft level of latency, timing, data flow​, bus loading, event sequencing, etc..

  • Defining approach for modeling and traceability of aircraft capability threads​ in CAMEO​.

  • Create efficiencies for development and test of systems / software by running programmatic reporting of the integration of Aircraft Capabilities​

  • Coordinate with Internal and External IPTs, suppliers, and peers to achieve development and integration tasks for software capability threads.

  • Ensure Safety and Cyber involvement in Architecture development and refinement in the aircraft capability threads​.

  • Manage and coordinate issues, problem reports and change requests to closure for aircraft capability threads.

  • Coordinate design changes and deliveries with Safety, Security and Certification organizations.

Qualifications

Skills You Bring To this Role:

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead cross functional teams in resolving complex highly integrated functional system problems.

  • ARP4754A & DO-297 knowledgeable – creating, validating, and verifying requirements following a rigorous process.

  • Experience in developing, integrating, and testing Systems/Sub-systems in a SIL and/or aircraft.

  • System/Sub-System architects that understand redundancy, independence, criticalities, systems separation and dependencies of functions

  • Leadership skills across multiple functions, IPT’s and support organizations

  • Aircraft integrator who understands data flow and allocation across multiple design functions

  • CAMEO Proficient (desired)

  • Knowledgeable DO-178C and DO-254 execution (desired)

  • Experience with Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) and Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) is a plus

  • Able to communicate directly with senior leadership inside and outside the company.

  • Self-motivated and able to track and report performance to cost and schedule.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

What you need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is required. Mechanical or Other Engineering degrees may be considered with applicable experience .

  • At least 15 years of experience in system/sub-system development and integration.

  • 2 years of Technical Leadership experience.

  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain Secret Security Clearance.
