Position Highlights

  • Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., Ft. Worth, TX 76104

**Level 1 Trauma Center

**Certified Stroke Center

  • Work environment: Radiology Interventional Services

**Wide variety of procedures including but not limited to tunneled line placement, fistula work, peripheral revascularization, trauma, neuro diagnostics

with interventions and strokes.

  • Work hours: Monday-Friday 7:30-1800p; rotating days off; this provides a four (4) day weekend every five (5) weeks. On call is required but is self-

scheduled. You must be within thirty (30) minutes of the hospital. On call requirements include two (2) primary weeks and two (2) backup weeks within a

thirteen (13) week cycle.

Things you need for the position:

Education:

Associate Degree in Applied Science required or

Completion of an accredited program in radiologic or cardiovascular technology required or

High school diploma or equivalent with two (2) years’ work experience in invasive cardiology required

Experience:

  • One (1) year experience preferred

  • Two (2) years’ experience with high school diploma required

Licensure and Certifications:

  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required or

  • RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist required or

  • RCES - Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist required and

  • CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist if ARRT and

  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (prior to providing independent patient care) required

Position Responsibilities

Texas Health Interventional Radiology Technologists are responsible for assessing and recognizing the patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions.

In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Interventional Radiology Tech will:

  • Learn to scrub in with providers, imaging and circulating. Work at the top of your scope

of practice!

  • Prepare the room for examination.

  • Communicate with providers regarding orders and exam requisitions.

  • Handle patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices, and monitor patient

during imaging.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of procedures, anatomy, emergency drugs and equipment.

  • Administer contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication

administration guidelines.

  • Process, record and manipulate images, analyze image quality, troubleshoot, make

technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed.
